  • Nov. 2022, our proposal “Native AI Empowered Next Generation Wireless Networks” was funded by the NSFC/RGC Collaborative Research Scheme. (Funded amount: HK$ 3,572,400, I am the PI, in collaboration with Prof. Shi Jin of Southeast University)

  • Sept. 2022, our paper “DReS-FL: Dropout-resilient secure federated learning for non-IID clients via secret data sharing” was accepted by NeurIPS 2022.

  • June 2022, our proposal “6G: Wireless Access and Connectivity for an Intelligent and Sustainable World” was funded by the Areas of Excellence (AoE) Scheme of RGC (Funded amount: HK$ 87.304m, I am one of the Co-PI's).

  • July 2020, our paper “Alternating Minimization Algorithms for Hybrid Precoding in Millimeter Wave MIMO Systems” has been identified as being one of the IEEE Signal Processing Society’s top 25 downloaded articles in 2019.

  • July 2020, proposal “Massive IoT Connectivity in Future Wireless Networks via Deep Learning-Assisted Compressive Sensing” was funded by RGC.

  • May 2020, paper “Complete Dictionary Learning via ell_p-norm Maximization” was accepted to Conference on Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence (UAI) 2020. [Paper]

  • Feb 2020, the BottleNet++ paper was accepted. [Paper] [GitHub]

    • It is an end-to-end framework that jointly considers neural network splitting, feature compression and communication for device-edge co-inference. Interestingly, the result shows that analog communication enjoys advantages in edge AI systems.

  • Feb 2020, a survey paper “Communication-efficient edge AI: Algorithms and systems” was submitted. [Paper]

  • November 2019, a survey paper on hybrid beamforming was submitted as an invited paper to IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society (OJ-COMS). [Paper]

  • November 2019, I was elected to the IEEE SPS Signal Processing for Communications and Networking Technical Committee (SPCOM TC) for a 3-year term, effective January 1, 2020. [SPCOM TC]

  • October 2019, paper “Mobile Edge Intelligence and Computing for the Internet of Vehicles” was accepted by Proceedings of the IEEE. [Paper]

    • It surveyed edge AI techniques in a typical application scenario, namley intelligent Internet of Vehicles.

  • October 2019, paper “Towards an intelligent edge: Wireless communication meets machine learning” was accepted to IEEE Communications Magazine. [Paper]

    • It was a joint work with Prof. Kaibin Huang's group at HKU.

  • July 2019, the visionary paper on 6G, “The Roadmap to 6G – AI Empowered Wireless Networks” was accepted to IEEE Communications Magazine. [Paper]

    • It was a joint effort with Prof. Khaled B. Letaief (HKUST), Prof. Wei Chen (Tsinghua), Prof. Yuanming Shi (ShanghaiTech), and Prof. Angela Zhang (CUHK). Any feedback or comment will be highly appreciated.
